OT’s on a LTO assignment are eligible to apply to permanent openings
From Teacher Personnel: Good afternoon Please be advised that Occasional Teachers on a Long Term Occasional assignment are eligible to apply to permanent posted openings on Apply to Education for which they are qualified. For more information on eligibility, please refer to Article 18 of your Occasional Teachers’ Collective Agreement. Thank you Lucie Baptista Manager Teacher Personnel – Human Resource Download the C.A. on the Unit/Collective Agreement page. The details are in Section B, Article 18. (page 80)Administrators contact OTs for LTO/Perm Assignments.
Please be advised effective immediately administrators will be contacting occasional teachers by Board email to schedule interviews for permanent and LTO positions. Excluding weekends, occasional teachers must respond by email within 24 hours of receiving the email in order to be considered. Please note: Once you receive an official offer from the Board and accept a LTO assignment, you must email Katherine Magee at katherine.magee@dpcdsb.org to have your application withdrawn from the other LTO positions you have applied to and would be unable to accept. Please include the posting number(s) in your email to Katherine. You are able to apply to perm postings and accept PERM positions, even though you are in a LTO assignment or working as a daily occasional teacher. Once you have received and accepted an official offer from the Board for a perm position, you are being asked to notify Katherine Magee with the posting numbers of other perm and/or LTO postings that you have applied to and now unable to accept, in order to have your application(s) withdrawn. This will enable the system to revise the five most senior, qualified applicants list and thus enable your colleagues to attend interviews for those positions for which they have applied.Question # 1: Are you currently in an LTO assignment where the dates of your current LTO will overlap with the dates of the position being applied to?
This question is mandatory and MUST be answered with a response of ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
Question #2: If yes, what date does your current LTO assignment end?
If you have responded ‘yes’ to question #1, you MUST enter the end date of your current LTO assignment. If you have responded ‘no’ to question #1, you should leave question #2 blank.
Please note: If you make a mistake in responding to question #1, you, the Occasional Teacher, and HR are not able to change the response once the job posting closes.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the recruitment staff.
Thank you.
