Friday June 7th will mark the anniversary of the election of Doug Ford as Premier of Ontario. Since taking office, Premier Ford and the PC government have launched a sustained attack against education, health care, and many other vital services.
To mark this dark day, we are encouraging our members to leave their red shirts at home and instead wear BLACK, on Friday, June 7, to bring attention to what has been lost since the 2018 election. Let’s make next Friday not just about education, but about how the lived experiences of so many Ontarians have been negatively impacted by the governing Tories.
Since early this spring, we have called on our members to wear “Red for Ed” on Fridays. This Friday is different. OECTA Provincial is inviting all members to join in a collective action to highlight just how different and difficult life in Ontario has become for many Ontarians after one year under the Doug Ford government. We are asking you to take photos of you and your colleagues dressed in black and share them with us on social media.
